π Where? Lower Highlands | 3555 Pecos Street Denver, CO 80211
π‘ Bundle & Save: Most students complete our curriculum in 4 sessions - some are faster and some need a little more time! Book 4 or more sessions upfront and receive a discount β bringing the total cost in line with our pre-scheduled class pricing.
Throughout this course, students will learn a number of technical skills, including:
- How to thread and use a sewing machine
- Straight stitch and back stitch
- How to measure fabric
- How to cut fabric
- Working with zippers
- Changing presser feet
- Stitch reinforcement
Students are expected to come with little to no sewing experience, and will leave with the ability to independently tackle beginner sewing projects β like a tote bag. Sewing is a skill built on repetition, and during this course, you'll build essential sewing skills through hands-on practice in a supportive, project-based classroom.
If you've purchased a machine and haven't been able to get started, watched 10 YouTube videos and still can't crack the code, or are just curious about sewing basics β this class is for you! No experience or tools needed, just bring your enthusiasm and we'll cover the rest.
Throughout each session, you'll gain practical knowledge and skills through a range of beginner-friendly projects that cover different types of sewing (e.g. garment making, accessories, quilting, household items).
Each participant should expect to finish the course with at least 3 completed projects and the skills and confidence to keep sewing on your own.
What's included:
- Each session is 3 hours of instructor-led coursework - most beginners complete our full Intro curriculum in 4 sessions
- Cotton, linen, and polyester fabrics
- Thread, zippers, and other notions
- All tools and equipment needed for the course, including use of one of our Brother sewing machines during class
- Scrap fabric for practice
